STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

STEM Cloud to Districts aims to spreading STEM literacy through lectures by experts to districts, schools and to nurture students with scientific research methods since they are young. In the first half year of 2015, STEM cloud to districts in Shanghai series event involves over 1000 students’ participation in four major districts, Huangpu district, Xuhui district, Jiading district and Songjiang district, in Shanghai. In the half year of 2015, the event will be held in Qingpu district, Jinshan district, Changning district, Baoshan district, Minhang district, Putuo district, Zhabei District, Yangpu District and Pudong District.

STEM Cloud to Rural Area is for students in under-developed area in China. It contains with hands-on STEM-oriented lectures given by excellent students from Shanghai high schools and universities as well as oversea universities. Those students have won grand awards in national and international contests in science and technology. Shanghai Science Association for Young Talents collaborated with Shandong Province Association for Science and Technology and Linyi Science and Technology Museum launched 2014 STEM Cloud to Rural Area in Linyi city, Shandong province in August 9 to 14, 2014, joining more than 300 students from four elementary and junior schools in rural area in Linyi city.

SCIENCE SEED•SCIENCE TOUR is a series of STEM-oriented outreaches in major science museums in Shanghai. Since January, 2014, Science Seed Science tour has implemented 6 periods, such as Seasonal Plants -Chenshan Botanical Garden Tour, Universal universe - Sheshanastronomicalmuseumand etc.

The camp is hosted annually by China Association for Science and Technology, Ministry of Education, supported by CAS, co-hosted by relevant universities, provincial association for science and technology and education department. This activity is designed to help colleges and universities, research institutes, enterprises to play an important role in increasing young people's scientific quality, stimulate young people's interest in science, guide young people to advocate science, encourage young people to aspire to engage in scientific research career, train their scientific spirit, innovation and practical ability, cultivate a solid foundation for reserve innovation talent.

In 2014, Adolescents’ Science Camp will be held from July 13th to 19th. It draws more than a thousand selected students throughout the nation to Shanghai to participate this year.
