Classification of Membership
Interest Membership
Target: Students from Grade 1 - 10
Period：Annually
Requirement: N/A
Apply: Follow SSAYT WeChat to keep up with various activities. There will be a science seed mobile station for activities all over the city.
Apply date: All year round
Set Science Seed Rover and carry out characteristic rover activities to achieve city-wide popularization of science and inspire students' interest in scientific inquiry.
Intern Membership
Target: Students from Grade 3 - 10
Period：August to next May
Requirement: N/A
Apply: Follow SSAYT WeChat; fill in relative applications; Login www.shssp.org for application.
Apply date: April to August
Equip students with systematic scientific research skills and abilities through science courses such as Scientific Navigation 60min, Scientific Research Method 60min, Stem Literacy 60min, and Awards Plaza.
Research Membership
Target: Students from Grade 3 - 12
Period：July to next March
Requirement:Students passed “Science Seeds Contest” will have chances to enjoy Research Membership.
Apply: Login www.shssp.org for online application and to submit science innovation projects.
Apply date: May
SSAYT will arrange professors for online assessment. Students who have science innovation ability and science enthusiasm will be selected. Support students through face to face counseling by experts and assistants every week. Enable students to turn research programs into practical results.
Senior Membership
Target: Students from Grade 11 - 12
Period：Every June to the following September
Requirement: Independent project; Fluent in English; High literacy; Free time ; Parents approval; Can afford fees for contests.
Apply: Qualified students can login www.shssp.org for online application ( Qualified intern members and research members are allowed to apply Talent membership ）；Shanghai model schools are able to recommend students without limits of quantity.
Apply date: July to October
Coordinating with “Youth Talent Program”, taking Fudan University, Shanghai Jiaotong University as the experiment site unit, focusing on tutor team counseling, students may feel the charm, experience the scientific process, and improve their practical ability.
Talent Membership
Target: Pre-high school students
Period: September to next December
Requirement: Good in study and characters; enthusiasm in science; critical thinking; science innovation ability.
Apply: Qualified students can login www.shssp.org for online application ( Qualified intern members and research members are allowed to apply Talent membership ）；Shanghai model schools are able to recommend students without limits of quantity.
Apply date: July to September

Rules for general practices：
a）Participate in Science Seeds Plan and become a member+X
“Science Seed Plan” is dedicated to the development of scientific culture among young people in the process from interest membership, intern membership, research membership to senior membership.
b）Participate in STEM cloud series events +25
Science Seeds •STEM cloud is a science education promotional project for Shanghai adolescents. Under the guidance from China Association of Science and Technology and National Science Teachers Association, Shanghai Association of Science and Technology started “Science Seeds Plan” which includes a series of projects of STEM cloud for Adolescents and teachers who are fond of science and technology innovations, using a book called “STEM project research guidance for students”, written by American experts and arranged by CAST and recommended by National Adolescents Science and Technology Innovation Committee, as the guidance to various schools in Shanghai.
c) Pass science knowledge test . Good+100; Pass +50
Shanghai Science Association for Young Talents will start a series of popular science knowledge tests in Shanghai city. Answers of tests will be published on SSAYT website （www.shssp.org) and public wechat account (wechat:SCIENCESEED)（calculation will not made repeatedly ）
d）Complete project +50
SSAYT aims at encouraging science innovations, building educational system of teachers from key universities through various of research courses and science camps so as to help members to make research plan s into outcomes.
